On Thin Ice

This story about rapidly melting summer sea ice in the arctic from NPR's All Thing's Considered this afternoon made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck.

Especially sad is the image of the mother and cub swimming out in open water in a wasteland of melting ice. Very sad. Makes me feel like there isn't much hope I am afraid.

I listened to the same report. I was itching to turn off the radio as it hurt so much to listen to the plight of our poor polar bears. For some reason, I grew a strong like for polar bears quite a few years back. My heart is so sad knowing that they are suffering so greatly. Big, big heavy sigh...
