Here are the tomato, pepper, and basil seedlings that the girls planted a few weeks ago.

It makes me smile to see how many seedlings are growing from each pot because they liked putting the seeds in the pots most of all.

I have been keeping them inside at night, and putting them outside in the sunshine during the day. When it gets warmer I will plant them out in the garden.

Are those prickly pear in your profile photo? One of the great joys of the desert is coming across those blooms.
How fun for the kids to plant and watch things grow.

I am so looking forward to my fresh vegetables!! I just noticed in your profile that you would love to live in the Pacific Northwest. I grew up in Washington state. Kind of a long story of how I ended up in Vermont, but sometimes I dream of living back that way someday.

Hi Janie, No but I am ashamed to say I have no idea which cactus they are specifically! I am such a fake gardener and I horrible at plant identification. They grow here and that picture was taken out in the desert east of Phoenix a few springs ago after we had had a very wet winter and there were blooms all around us. Thanks for stopping by! :)

Liisa, I would love to hear the story of how you ended up in Vermont! Perhaps you could do a blog post about it? Yes, one day soon I hope we will make our way up there. I feel as though that is where I am meant to be somehow!
