And the answer was..

YES!!!!!!!!!!!

AND she actually said that she loves the sounds chickens make! I am so happy I asked now, and asked this particular neighbour. Silly me for waiting for so long, and for assuming wrongly what they would say!

Now the chicken planning starts.

Happy, happy, happy!

Hurrah! I'm glad you worked yourself up to ask and doubly glad for you that they said yes. How exciting!

Thanks Judy! I am very excited but will have to wait until Fall because the summer heat isn't a good time to get chicks. Gives me more time to plan it all out though. :)

I am very happy for you Mo!I can imagine how you feel. We are very fortunate that we don't even have to consider what a neighbor thinks where I live. But I do understand how it is in a more urban setting. Chickens are cool! We love ours. We have 17 hens and a rooster and are hoping to incubate some eggs for more. We will be needing to replace some of our older hens.

So cool. So are you going to expand your garden, too? Or just put in a little chicken coop, house, shed.... habitat, whatever.

Thank you Petals Yoga, and thank you for finding me too! I will be over to visit you soon too.

Gail, great to hear from you! I too dream one day of living somewhere where I don't need permission, but for now I am happy that I have it!

Hey Bill, I will still expand the garden into the sand pit area. The chickens will actually go down the west side of the house, and will be completely separated from any dog encounters with a fence of some sort and the coup of course.

Mo,
That's wonderful! I am really excited for you! I have been trying to convince my other half that we should have some chickens, but he hasn't quite been convinced yet. :) I am excited to hear about how your chicken plans progress...

So we will be bird hobbiests (is that a word?) together!

I don't suppose you want a pigeon or two......our momma Verna just laid another egg.

hehe

Can't wait to see those chicken pics!

Hi Liisa, thank you! Keep working on your other half, and I am sure he will come around to the idea. Me and mine don't agree on much it seems but he is totally on board with the whole chicken idea, and eager to get started on the coop! :)

Amy, I have always wanted to be a "bird hobbiest" with you! :) Glad to hear about the new egg. soon you will be overrun, unless you start a pigeon breeding business perhaps?

Thanks Leaner, and yup, I am sure this will truly be an adventure!
