Oak Creek Canyon

Our final camping trip of the summer was up at Oak Creek Canyon which is in my opinion one of the most beautiful places in Arizona.

It is of course peak tourist season right now and it was very busy, but we had a great camping spot down by the creek, and we did a fantastic hike up into the canyon as well.

It was a great trip, and a fantastic way to end this summers outdoor camping adventures.

Haven't been there in years....I love Sliding Rock. Looks like it was beautiful up there.

<---- so jealous. I wanted to go camping this summer, but nasty morning sickness has taken to joy out of everything.

rohrerbot, sliding rock was SO busy. We drove by and cars were lining up to go in so we gave it a miss and did the hike instead. We were glad we did.

Leaner, I know how awful it feels but it will all be worth it in a few months, and then you will have three lovelies to take with you on future camping trips! x

Last time I was there was 30 years ago. We called it slide rock. It had no parking, bathrooms or people. You just parked on the side of the road and hopped in the water.
Your pics are lovely.

Hi SCS, it is still called Slide Rock actually. You wouldn't recognize it now. All amenities one needs, and throngs of people to boot. How things change! Nice to "see" you here. :)
