Wallow Fire

I have done little other for the past week than think about all of those affected in the White Mountains by the Wallow Fire which is still raging out of control despite the valiant attempts of firefighters to contain it.

The White Mountains of Arizona and New Mexico are stunning in their beauty and peace and I can't bear to think of what will be left after this is all over. However, our friends who live up there are so stoical in their view of this fire despite the fact that it is within a mile of their property.

Hoping and praying there will be full containment soon, and that everyone stays safe.

I was thinking about your camping excursions as I've been hearing about this fire.

Thank you for your thoughts Jenn! Yes, we go up to the White Mountains for June each year and so of course this year we have not gone which has been sad but so much worse for those that live up there in such a magical place. Thankfully our friend's property up there has been unaffected by the fire though it came within a 1/4 mile of their home. The firefighters have done an amazing job and they are hopeful that the landscape will recover though it will take a long time before it is the same as before. We are hopeful we will return again next June all being well. Hope you are well Jenn! xx
